Ciclist riding the 312 route

It’s almost time for one of the great cycling events in Spain: the Mallorca 312! And with accommodations at Hoposa’s SportHotel Villaconcha, you not only have a convenient jumping-off point for watching the contestants, but also plenty of fabulous opportunities to pursue some health, fitness, and—yes—cycling for yourself!

The road challenge takes place on April 28, 2018. If you’re coming to watch the spectacle—or, heck, if you’re competing it in—treat yourself to Hoposa-style hospitality for the occasion!

The Mallorca 312

The Mallorca 312 constitutes a 312-kilometer (194-mile) Gran Fondo road course that begins and ends at Playa de Muro not far from Alcudia. The great loop it executes tackles some of the most gorgeous—and challenging—terrain on Mallorca, namely the Serra de Tramuntana: our island’s highest and most rugged mountains. (You can see a map of the Mallorca 312 course right here. We’re talking 5,050 meters (about 16,570 feet) of elevation gain—no small potatoes!

Cyclists participating in the Mallorca 312 challenge have 14 hours to complete this Serra de Tramuntana circuit.

There are two shorter options available, meanwhile: the Mallorca 225 and the Mallorca 167 (aka 225-kilometer and 167-kilometer courses). The Mallorca 225, which involves 3,973 meters (13,035 feet) of elevation gain, has a 10-hour completion window; the Mallorca 167, with 2,475 meters (8,120 feet) of elevation gain, has a 9-hour window.

Enjoying the Mallorca 312 From Hoposa SportHotel Villaconcha

The Mallorca 312 course passes through Puerto Pollensa where most of our Hoposa hotels and vacation apartments, including SportHotel Villaconcha, are situated. That means for both contestants and spectators, our properties make super-convenient (and super-luxurious) lodgings.

With SportHotel Villaconcha’s state-of-the-art exercise and training facilities, plus our new bike garage (free for guests) and close proximity to grade-A cycling routes, we make an unbeatable hotel for both professional and amateur cyclists—not to mention cycling enthusiasts! We invite you to join us for the Mallorca 312 (and 225 and 167) on April 28th this year, and take advantage of our fitness-friendly resources—and trademark Hoposa hospitality—while you’re at it.

Meanwhile, our other Hoposa hotels and vacation apartments can also serve as prime lodgings for the Mallorca 312: not just the other Puerto Pollensa locations, but also our gorgeous oceanfront Hotel Costa D’Or in Deia in northwestern Mallorca, which also lies along the Gran Fondo route.

Best of luck to all of the Mallorca 312 participants, and a hearty welcome to those cyclists and spectators who’ll attend the event with convenient and postcard-perfect accommodations with Hoposa!
